Feel Free to Ignore This Out of Character Post
But anyway. I'm sure you have seen the news... Saddam being prepared for the gallows. I had a reaction that I didn't expect out of myself. I cried. Not only did I cry, I got hysterical. I don't really know why. I don't think its because of HIM, but just seeing someone preparing to die. It's sad. I'm kind of an overly emotional person. I mean -I understand its his sentence(and why) and I understand reasons for and against the death penalty. But still, it's sad. A person dying. I know he has done a lot of horrible things, but still the thought makes me cry.
Why do they put it on TV? I know people want "proof" and I know I don't have to watch it. But how can you not?
I'm feeling some VERY mixed emotions. I think I'm overly deprived of sleep.
Yikes. Feel free to ignore this out of character post.

I Kid You Not
Friday Flashback
Mai (pronounced as "My") was one of our Exchange students that we sort of got along with. She was very quite and reserved from what I remember. I think she spent alot of time in her room. I do think she stayed the whole year. Right mom?? Anyway - Digging through some old boxes of mine I found these letters she sent before she came.

I tried to make it so you can read them okay, but the paper was very thinn and the scanner I used sucks! haha. But anyway I thought the letters were fun.
We hosted Students from all over. Venezuela, Brazil, two from Japan, Germany, one from Sweden...and other places I don't remember! So many of them stick out in my mind... they were like brothers and sisters! We keep in touch with one somewhat often, another one here and there randomly... but we have lost contact with a lot of them, which is kind of sad :-(
Gingerbread house
The house is also sitting on a CD coffee table I made a few years ago.
I think it's amazing how much better we can all get along now that we aren't living together! Me and my sister even got eachother the same thing. With out knowing at all!
There I am concentrating. On my first ever Gingerbread House. Did you make one this year?
Time to PAR-TAY
Yey! Look what I got!
Sure... I nominated myself. But hey I got it right!!! I encourage you all to check out the site. There are a lot of other blogs worth reading that have been awarded. Heck, Why not nominate a fellow blogger!!

How to Mess Your Room Up in 10 Easy Steps
1. Kick off your shoes. Right in the middle of the floor.
2. Eat. Leave wrappers and dirty dishes everywhere.
3. Watch movies. Leave the cases everywhere.
4. Listen to music. Change Cd's Often. Leave them everywhere.
5. Work on the computer. Toss messed up papers from the printer on the floor.
6. Try Looking for something. Anything. You will swear its there and turn the place upside down.
7. Read a magazine. Rip out any pages that seem interesting. Be sure to place them in the middle of the floor.
8.Pick out an outfit. Finding something to wear often includes changing you mind multiple times.
9. Do anything creative or crafty.
10. Attempt to clean. It only ends up worse doesn't it?
I seem to find myself cleaning my room EVERYDAY. I think it would be a lot easier if I just did things as I went.
Any additions to my list?

Flashback Friday (yeah I know it's not friday)
HERE IS A PREVIEW!
Today's flashback is a picture of me in the 4th grade. (Click here to compare to Senior year of high school)
I had Ms. Leach in the fourth grade. I hated her. She was the first teacher that made me feel stupid. It was something about spelling. She was a mean old lady who had nothing better to do than drive us poor kids crazy. I'm sure we have all had a teacher or two like that.
Anyway. Looking back at this picture I'm reminded of the dress I'm wearing. It was a skort, well, a dress/skort. not a "skirt" Anyway. I remember feeling really self conscious because I thought it was too short and revealing... look at those shoulders! When I look at this picture, and I'm sure when My mom does to.... I think about how I NEVER smiled for pictures. I think this was the year my mom said "I'm paying for pictures you better smile" So this is what she got. A half smile. I was a really shy kid.
Well that's it for today's Flashback.
I want that long hair back.

Ouch!
Also, I think its crazy that 4 years later we can still get almost the whole group (9 of us i think last night) together.
Do any of you keep in contact with friends from highschool? Have you reunited with any lost friends lately? Is there someone you've been meaning to look up?

Another Quiz Taker, A+
This Blog is new to me, but well worth a read. This blog is about a Student at the University of Florida studying Chemical Engineering. He seems to have stumbled upon the whole Pay Per Post that I am still hesitant to start! he has WONDERFUL pictures, from which I have created the picture above. He also is pretty good at drawing, even if it is just for a study break.
Well what are you waiting for! Go check it out! And you should link to him on your page. Here's Why.
Check it out.
This blog is a blog that has everything. Family, funnies, friends, and information. I love this blog because there are little bits of info all around. I often find myself clicking on the links provided in each post, but I always find my way back. Thermal includes a lot of information about blogging and how to make yourself known, something I have taken and interest in lately... And you should too.
So Stop by this blog and have a look around. Learn some things and laugh a little along the way. I especially liked throwing the snowballs at the penguins.

I found it interesting that donating organs was frowned upon in Hong Kong. If I were ever in a situation when I wouldn't live but I could still help others, I would want to. I give it to the Mother of this boy for standing up and doing what what she felt was right. It's moving.
I also wonder if receiving donated organs is frowned upon. Surely those who think donating is bad, would change their mind when and if they ever became in need.
Strangely enough, I just finished up a class this past quarter "Interculteral Communication"
Isn't it interesting the differences between cultures? There are some things that are hard to comprehend and understand. I guess that's what makes the world interesting.

I'm it.... again
1 ) What have you learned so far from your visitors?
They are all as addicted to this as i am :-)
2 ) If someone would offer to pay a course (or more) for you, what that course would be?
A Course in Sky Diving, Race car Driving, Snorkeling and anything else not school related.
3 ) Are you satisfied with what you’ve achieved this year, in general?
I'm never satisfied.
4 ) Did blogging changed your life or your personality in any way?
No, but it has given me a way to channel my boredom.
5 ) If you had the opportunity to meet one person that you admire the
most in the world, who that person would be?
I am fascinated by the famous, but I in no way admire them. I admire my mother, and believe it or not... i have met her before!
The rules of the game:
You will be asked 5 questions and if you choose to participate and answer, then you will have to pass it on to 5 other people, although everyone is free to participate.
The questions you are passing on can be any questions you like but you can’t change question number 5.
If, you don’t like a question you are being asked (except no.5) or you can’t answer a question, you are then free to change that question with your own.
I Tag... Those of you who haven't been tagged.

Bad Santa. You caused an accident. Luckily it wasn't me (I'm SUCH a good drive i can take pictures and drive at the same time!). The car in from of me hit the car in front of them.

I then drove on to Burger King and ordered some lunch "Can I have a number 7, oh and no coke in my ice please." hahaha, boy did I feel like an idiot. My subconscious really did not want me to have that COKE. Yeah, the one I shouldn't have been ordering :-/
Here is why you shouldn't order ice in your drinks.

Learning is too hard. It could be easier.
"X equals negative B plus or minus square root of B squared minus 4 A C All over 2 A"
Congratulations, you have just sung the quadratic formula. I learned this my freshman year of high school. Now I'm in my senior year of college, haven't taken a math class in 2 years, and STILL know it.
I really think there is money in this idea. Take a song everybody knows and put some knowledge into it. Weird Al does it, but not in an educational way.
I think about this idea every time I hear a really old song to and sing the words perfectly. With all the stuff that goes on in one day and the things that have happened over the years, how do I remember all the words to that song. It's crazy how the mind works.
Don't you think it would be more beneficial to remember the things I need to know for my exam rather than the words to "Baby Got Back"?
Now I just have to think of some good examples.... any ideas?
Bored.

Super Stench.
Anyway, As soon as the automatic doors did there thing, I was greeted by a nice blast of warm air... and a horrible smell. Ugh. I don’t know how to describe it, but it wasn't good.
So I thought to my self, "Ugh that lady just FARTED and I am RIGHT behind her. How rude." As I scrambled to pass her I started to notice the smell was not going away. I started heading to the other side of the store because the smell was making me woozy.
I did some quick shopping and asked the cashier, "Does you management know about THAT smell?!" She just replied that "Oh yeah... that, they are working on it."
So as I'm walking out of the store I decided that the smell could be natural gas. Or some kind of gas... (It wasn't from no rear-end though). I know they put an odor in with natural gas so that it can be detected.... I just don't know what it smells like. So I decided to call the fire department and report it. After all, it was bad enough to give me a splitting headache.

Muthaf*er
Don't visit this guys Blog.
I was a little worried this morning because I went to this guys blog and saw my template. Which is cool. I know it was a free one off the internet. But he even changed the top tabs into a personal message like i did (or the template they are just links or whatever). So that kinda was wierd, but whatever. and I commented about it, and he ended up changing it. So that made me feel better.
Then I went to his other blog (the one pictured) and saw the same words at the top... "Please make your mark! It is a great way to visualize all my visitors not to mention a "plug" for yourself if you include your website." Hmm I think tha's on my blog. Maybe, just maybe.

And then see in his post about bone. He so copy and pasted "bone's blog. He has a challlenge for you." Its in MY FONT. not likt he rest of his post. (this whole thing I don't care about as much as the thing on the top.)
It's like F*ing middleschool all over agian. I hate when people cheat off me. ARGGGG.
(I feel your pain now skittles, atleast he wasnt copying my content.)

I Double Dog Dare You
He has a challenge for you!
Here's my stab at it...(I am NO writer)
On one of the many streets in New York dead that night, he sat alone on the curb. Waiting for the bus he could hear the roars of the Times Square crowd in the distance. It started to snow as the bus pulled up. A one way ticket out of the town. A destination unknown. He smiled as he saw the reflection of the red stoplight in the rearview mirror.
“Getting my fat a$S in shape.”
I'm not the type to make them, and when I do, I'm not the type to keep them. I think that's why they suck.

This year however I'm going to make one (a very typical one too). Only because I have to, and I have to be successful at it! I'm going into the police academy next January (2008) and I’m WAY out of shape. So my resolution this year will be titled "Getting my fat a$S in shape." I have a whole year to complete it (Well really only 10 months because there is a pre-physical test in October). I haven't really worked out the details as far as diet and amount of exercise, I just hope to improve. I know that I need to start out slow; I'm not the same person I was in H.S. I know that I CANNOT run a mile in 7:30 anymore :-(
I will keep you posted.
Do you normally make new years resolutions? Even been successful? What are your's for next year? Is it way to early to be thinking about this?

A Little Ketchup With My Mustard? No Thank You.
And then I turned on my head lights and saw...
This.

This was done by a BOTTLE not packets. There for this (in my opinion) required some type of premeditation. Also, my car faces a wall. They had to walk around to the front of my car to do all this $hit. Though I don't know but I would figure there is some kind of significance to it being on the driver side too.
I think it was a resident who doesn't like me (only because they don't KNOW me). I tried looking back at the tapes but it was useless.
Fock.
Who does this $hit? For real. UGH.
Also. It took two carwashes to get it all off.
Pudding.
If I have to un-prop one more Focking door i'm going to SCREAM
As exam week approaches I would like to wish you all good-luck on your exams. Please remember to keep the noise level down, as many of your fellow neighbors are studying.
I would like to remind all of you that you may not, under any circumstances, prop open any exterior doors. The fee for propping doors is $50. Please remember that you are under surveillance in the building. We do live in Clifton, propping the doors open puts the safety of all residents at risk.
Also, all guests must be accompanied at all times. This too has become a problem. This includes any residents left in your room for an extended period of time. Again, I do not know how to stress the safety risks concerning this issue. I can program your name into the call box by the front door so guests can notify you upon arrival. Local cell phones and/or your room phone can be programmed into the system.
If you plan on going home over Winter Break please complete the following before you leave:
- Take out your trash.
- Clean out your fridge (food that will spoil), Leave your fridge plugged in.
- Check your mail.
- Close your blinds.
- Un-plug plugs (leave the fridge plugged in).
- Turn off lights.
- Lock all doors (room AND suite).
Thank you,
Erika
