Hello again

I'm struggling to get the icon working. There was a time when I was good at computers. What happened?

Other than that I'm beginning to feel really stressed out for multiple reasons. I can pin point a few. But yikes. Everything at once is SO crappy :-/

I'm on-call this weekend. Which means I'm stuck here. It kind of sucks but I'm so excited to SLEEP all weekend. I plan on working out A LOT too. I hope it happens. I want to watch some of my favorite movies too (the ones I have anyway.) Just Friends. Life or Something Like It. The Sweetest Thing. and If I'm really bored OC season 1,2, and 3. :-D

A weekend devoted to ME! I cannot wait.

Super Bowl Sunday Commercials.... I CANNOT WAIT!

Last Couple Days

The last couple days have been crazy. Monday I was on-call here were I live (I'm and RA) and on top of that I was up ALL night working on Criminal Justice Statistics homework and studying for a Police Organization Management Class midterm. The two classes that are the hardest :-/ Then Tuesdays are back to back classes. Finally today was work at the daycare and babysitting right after.

I did get to make a trip to Meijer(big super-awesome store) to get some shampoo. I just haven't figured out why it took me 25 minutes to decide what kind of shampoo I wanted. And how did I end up spending 18 bucks? Thank goodness that was the only thing I had to get! :-D

I'm so sick of work and school.

There will be another post shortly.... and a FAV Icon :D

Arts and Crafts

I've been volunteering at a local park. I love it. I used to work there so I can kind of do what I want and know where everything is.

I set up crafts in a classroom at the visitor center. We try to do recycled/nature crafts. This week we made these necklaces. The "beads" are cut up straws. We also took old magazines and made envelopes out of them. We made bookmarks too - out of scraps of foam, felt and paper from left over projects.

The kids come in, pick what they want and make a craft. Usually they do all of them. We only had 35 people Saturday, but 2 weeks before we had double! There is an indoor play place at the park. Yes, its INSIDE at a PARK. It gets cold out... so it's a good place for parents to bring their kids!

I love being creative and crafty!

oops

I accidentally messed up my template earlier. I think its all better now... but let me know if something isn't working right!

Thanks!

I Cannot Stay Away!

Okay. So I can't stay away. Truth is... It's a boring Saturday night. NOTHING is going on... So what better to do than BLOG! It was a nice try anyway. My intentions were good.

Here is my question for you:

"FASTING" Brunette Takes a Vacation Until Blonde

I'm going back to BLONDE on Monday! I absolutely cannot wait. I miss it :-)

Until then I'm going to take an internet break (besides school stuff)! I have realized that I'm too addicted to AIM, Facebook, Myspace, and this blog! It's going to be a hard task (I've done this before) but I will fast for a whole 3 and a half days!

Don't worry. I'll be back. I can guarantee that! :-) I just like to challenge myself every once and awhile. See if I can stay away. Tonight will be my last night on. I hope to post my Friday Flashback before midnight!

I will see you all MONDAY at 5pm!
You will all see me too. It is very likely that I will post a picture of my beautiful blonde locks! I'm sure I will have a lot to talk about too!

Read some old post while I'm gone!
Comment like crazy!

Friday Flashback

The three of us, My sisters and I used to love to run around the house. We made excuses to do it too. In the winter when we would have the fireplace going we would all cram up in front of it and pull up the back of our shirts. We would wait as long as we could bear the heat. Then one of us would take off running screaming and waving our arms, as if we were on fire. As soon as one of us would take off... the two of us left would immediately follow. As soon as we got cold. We'd be back at the fire to repeat the process.

So much fun.

I wish I had a picture of this. haha.

It's Coming

It's coming. Once again.

For some reason I feel like it's going to suck more than years before. Is that possible? It only sucks for me because it is a lovely reminder that I'm single... and STILL single.

Do you celebrate Valentines day or do you think its a non-sense Hallmark day?

I worked out!

I worked out before work tonight! It took some motivation, and I don't think I would have gone by myself. Thanks T.h! I did a mile of fast walking on the treadmill - 16 min and 51 seconds. For the Police Academy starting January 2007 I have to be able to run a mile and a half in like 13-14 minutes. Yikes! I have a ways to go! And the physical test for that is in October! I also did the elliptical for a FEW minutes. That thing is hard. Biked for 7 minutes too!

I'm so excited I worked out that I'm going again as soon as I get done with desk duty!

Have any of you used your gym memberships lately??

Goal.

I would LOVE to hike THIS trail this summer. Now if I could only find someone to go with...

Just kidding. i didn't know it would take SO LONG- 5-7 months! I would like to do it for a few weeks though. Maybe I can do it in bits and pieces. Hopefully finish it before I die! ;-)

This Weekend's Review

Yesterday I went to the UK(Kentucky) Basketball game with UK's biggest fan and one of my bestest friends. Sadly we watched them loose. It was fun anyway. However I am beginning to thing I'm bad luck. First the Bengals game... now this? It sucked even more that they lost because it took us 2 hours to get to the game and it was S.b.'s 22nd birthday (technically it's today).

After the game we went up to Miami University (Oxford) to celebrate her birthday with friends. It was great. I became entirely too intoxicated. Again. It was fun.

I spent the night there to avoid driving home... I awoke to a lovely covering of the white stuff. I was VERY surprised. They were only calling for an inch and there were about 3! The 40 minute drive home was kinda crappy because it was still rather early. It took a LOT more than 40 minutes too. Between 2 exits on the highway I counted 7 cars off the road. Yikes. it wasn't THAT bad. People just need to pay attention to what they are doing!

I got home and was out the door again! I went sledding with my other bestest friend T.h. I'm contemplating whether or not I should put up the funny and embarrassing snow angel making video. hmm. We'll see.

Thats me sledding down on a saucer face first on my stomach. Rockin' the old school A.D.I.D.A.S.

As for the rest of the night... I'm stayin' in and stayin' warm!

I'm NOT dreaming!

The snow has finally come! I'm so excited!!

It's Friday!

Happy FRIDAY everyone!

My Friday Flash Back this Week was combined with my Thursday Thirteen!

You can view it HERE. Of you could not be lazy and scroll down ;-)

Today will consist of getting my laundry out of the dryers (4 LOADS!) at 1am in the morning. Work, then hanging out with T.h.

Hopefully I won't be out to late. I have had a sinus infection (I think anyway) for the last 2 days! :-(

Not my LAST post. I just mean the last post I posted. As in the one right below this... I wanted to apologize for how it looks. Some of the pictures are a little bigger than expected, and I can't see to shrink them with out distorting them really badly. So they are hanging over a little. OOPS.

We can't all be perfect!

Bumper Sticker

Here's and interesting bumper sticker I came across when I was driving home from class last night...

"It'll be a great day when our schools have all the money they need for supplies and the Navy has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber."

It was something along those lines anyway.

Do you have any bumper stickers on your car? Not me. No Way.

"Face" It

You're bored.
"Face" it....
You ended up at my blog. haha.

Why not go look at some Strange Statues Around the World.

De-lurker

Last week was De-lurker week... as a number of blogs have mentioned.

The concept behind it is to leave a comment to let the person know you are reading or have been by. Sitemeter tells me from where in the world people look at my blog... most of the time I can figure out who is where. But who is reading from Lebanon, Ohio. thats not too far form me.... so it has to be someone I know. So I ask you... please De-Lurk yourself....

The rest of you too ;-)

In a Great Mood

This year is awesome. I have lost 10 lbs already. Go check it out at Girl With a Green Scale. Other things have been going well too. 5 classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, They aren't all that bad... but will require a lot of work. Criminal Justice stats is challenging, but I like the challenge. I'm going to the UK basketball game on Saturday with S.b. and I'm excited about that... and I have to figure out something to get her for her b-day...hmm. Work is work, but I can't say that I HATE any of my jobs.

I'm even going to go clean my room for the first time this year and that doesn't upset me.

Nothing can stop me now!

Friday Flashback

Saturday mornings were filled with soccer games in our family. After every game at Phillips Park my sisters and I would BEG to stop at the whippy dip, and then pout as we passed the kids wearing solid colored shirts with numbers slapped on the back enjoying their cones.

On occasion we would stop. I would look through the glass and beg my mom or dad for that soft serve twist covered in sprinkles in a an upside down baseball cap - and we can't forget the candy eyes. Most of the time we would get a "no". We'd Settle for the "twist with sprinkles and eyes" Sometimes we would go as far to ask for "extra eyes."

Every once and a while one of us would be alone for in the car with our mom. Some how either we got her to break, or she suggested it... we'd go to the Whippy Dip drive-thru. We'd eat our ice cream on the way home. Sometimes we would stop at the elementary school if we weren't quite finished. Most of the time it was more like "hurry up and shove it in your mouth we are almost home." We weren't aloud to tell our siblings because they would get mad they didn't get to go... However it would always slip out in a fight "Well mom took meeeee to Whippy Dip. So HA." Then the other one who didn't get to go would go whine to our mom and she would "owe us one."

Great memories. I can't wait until its open for soccer season again :-D

Sometimes Things Are Funny

During my first class, Life Course Criminology, I couldn't help but to silently snicker every time my professor said puberty. No it's not necessarily a funny word. I typically hear it pronounced pew*berr*tea. He wasn't saying it like that. It was more like POO*bur *tea. :-) cracked me up.

Off to my next class. Domestic Violence. The professor is taking attendance. Ashley Olsen is in our class. Well, not the real one. The professor starts talking and I'm not sure what he was talking about, maybe divorce? But he said "Been there, done that, got that T-Shirt." The whole class cracked up. Moments like that, sometime make the class worth sitting through.

Then to Statistics. Where nothing funny happened. Come on, its stats.

Then to Police Organization Management. Same professor who teaches Domestic Violence. he was talking about how the Government is the U.S.'s biggest consumer. He said "Imagine if the police stopped buying cruisers. Auto companies are already on the decline. Who would buy all the Crown Vic's?" He Pauses. "Well I guess all the playa's could put spinners on the wheels and then everything would be okay." the class erupted in laughter., and he said, "well isn't that what they are driving these days?"

So funny.

Nothing happened in Criminal Procedures. It was the first time we had the class. Our Professor is some big-wig judge. He said we could sit in on some cases and what not. Serious ones too. Real jury trials. I'm so excited.

It's hard to determine what support comes from where. I could probably write a book. Some of them cross over and some have there own unique form of support. I think some of the key forms of support are... emotional, financial, education reassurance.... The list could go on. My Friends and family are the key to my support system!!

No Wonder....

I've Been Stumbling

Check out this site. some cool pics made out of words!

Welcome Back to Class

Some thoughts I had during the first day back to classes....

You might as well strap a stereo to your head. Those ipod headphones are not speakers. And yes I'm shooting you dirty looks. It is highly annoying hearing every crappy word to your pimp ass hoes or whatever song. Seriously I should not be able to hear all the words LOUD and clear from down the hall. And I don't want to.

And if I see another pair of Uggs I might barf.

Skittles

I'd like to shout out to all of you readers today, go check out....

The Asshole Song

If you haven't heard it yet, and don't take offence to "potty words"... check out The Asshole Song

Freedom Writers

I just saw Freedom Writers and it was SO good. I definitely recommend it. The trailer doesn't do it justice.

I thought it was going to be like all those other do-good feel-good movies, but it was so much better. I cried and laughed a ton! Go see it! ... Or rent it when it comes out!

Ugh.

Dear Jerk,

Why do you find it necessary to vandalize my car? First the ketchup now My side mirror. What did I ever do to you? Probably nothing. The ketchup was ha ha FUNNY. But my mirror. That cost me $250 dollars. You see they don't just replace the mirror. They have to replace the WHOLE thing. You are an asshole. I hate you. I don't have that kind of money. I will hunt you down and have you arrested. I will be reviewing all tapes from last night in hope of catching you. I hate you.

No Love,
Erika

HERE is a message from me to all of you!

Firefox

I finally downloaded the FireFox. I don't know if I like it. My blog looks different. The spaces are bigger in between the tabs on the top and the writing on the right is bigger and bolder and looks ugly. I will have to figure out how to fix these things... but will they look stupid when someone on explorer looks at it? Ugh. So confusing and disappointing.

The Sound Track to My Life

The sound track to my life. Songs that remind me of parts of my life.

1. The Macarena - I learned to do the dance at a birthday party. I still remember it to this day. Who doesn't?
2. I Saw the Sign - Castle Skateland. I just remember this playing while rollerskating.
3.Wonderful - No joke I heard this song for the first time when I was packing up my room to move out of the house with my mom and sisters.
4. Baby got back -A neighbor played this song for me. I was in shock she new all the words to a 'rap' song.
5. You's a Hoe - Mom don't deny it. this song made you laugh. I remember in the car you laughed who it came on. Rappers are so silly. I loved to sing/scream "youuuuuu's a hoe"... I don't listen to this kind of music too much anymore
6. Bye Bye Bye - My older sister would do a little dance to this in the living room after school when it came on TRL.
7. Cruz - Reminds me of leaving for college
8. Mombo number 5 - I'm Famous. My name is in this song
9. The Wonder Years Theme Song - Just classic and I love it. I used to watch the show all the time!
10. Little Black Backpack - Me and Steph would sing this all the time in high school.

.....I'm working on coming up with more. I know there are some i just can think of right now!

What song takes you back? Where to?

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Good luck with all your New Year's Resolutions!

I brought in the New Year by attending the Bengals Game with T.H. We had awesome seats! 10 rows away. It was a crazy game that WE SHOULD HAVE WON! We lost in overtime, and we would be in the playoffs if we would have won :-(

T.H. has all the right connections so we got "backstage" family passes. We got to see all the Bengals leaving and got autographs. Very fun. Sneaky Carson Palmer went an alternate route.

We lost, but it was still fun..... It was actually nice to see a whole game! I use to work at the stadium selling souvenirs. Something I would NEVER recommend doing. Unless you love drunken idiots yelling at you because the Bengals lost AGAIN, Or them constantly asking for discounts because the Bengals sucked... and my favorite getting soaked in beer. (This of course was all before Marvin Lewis came to town.)

After the game we went and hung out at T.H.'s house and did the traditional countdown with the TV.
