Fun Times

HERE is a fun blog to browse around. I wouldn't lie.

Rejuvenated

So I'm just about done with being sick... Thank goodness.

I noticed that I shed a few pounds while under the weather (it was probably that lung I hacked up), and I could feel it on my face. So in addition to that - I did a little running tonight and a TON of crunches and moderated push-ups.

I feel so good.

"Erika Needs To..."

According to Google....

Erika needs to....

Erika needs to calm down.
Erika needs to eat a steak sandwich while doing sit-ups.
Erika needs to start writing up her PhD.
Erika needs to earn how to suppress her conscience.
Erika needs to get drunk.
Erika needs to drop out of school and move back to Syracuse because of my own selfish reasons.
Erika needs to go ASAP!
Erika needs to be in a group of quiet, conscientious, somewhat skilled students, at least one of which has an excellent grasp of academic English.
Erika needs to use her own brain.
Erika needs to call neighbors but the phone lines are out.
Erika needs to fold her tent and move on.
erika needs to stop being pretty.
Erika needs to take more time to nurture herself and take care.
Erika needs to win.
Erika needs to see three shrinks.

Haha Fun Stuff. Google is fun. See my
previous post.

Thanks for the post idea Skittles.

10 Ways to Be the Stereotypical College Student

1.
Drink massive abouts of beer.
This however cannot occur through the typical cup or glass. Beer must be shotguned, bonged, gulped upside down (kegstanded?) or swallowed by the rules (you must be playing a "game")

2.
Belong to Facebook

3.
Screw yourself by waiting too long to schedule classes, get stuck with an 8'oclock and then proceed to over sleep everyday and miss it.

4.
Have "at least" one "one night stand"

5.
Add and drop classes religiously.

6.
Learn to steal the food of your roommates/housemates and learn to cook that and anything & everything else in the microwave. Forget what 'fresh' means and what fruits and vegetables are.

7.
Know the pizza delivery man on a first name basis.

8.
Own a cell phone, forget to turn it on silent and accidentally allow it to ring during class - especially on exam days.

9.
Give directions not by street names, but bar names and where people live. "It's on the same street as Woodys," "You know where laurens house is? well you take a left after that, then a right. Then it is right across from the Pony Keg - You can't miss it."

10.
Acquire the taste for red bull, coffee, caffeinated beverages and or pills.

It's True.

I'm going on four years of college and I have never been to the Library.... Well the one here anyway. The first school I went to I visited it a few times. The second school I went to I visited it only to sit in and study. Did you know I had my associates already? Well now I'm here at main campus working on my bachelors and have never been to the library. It sounds funny and makes me look stupid. And no, I don't know where it is. Though I do have a general Idea. When you really think about it though, with how much we use computers today... you really don't need to go to the library. I can access all kinds of journals and articles through my schools library site, so it is very helpful.

Why bring this up you say? Well one - becuase I think its Ironic, two - because I have an assignment due tomorrow and I need to get a book on reserve, and three - I have to get my little sister to give me a tour and show me where things are tonight! haha.

Todays View.

This is the view out my window today. It was taken around 6pm Cincinnati time. It was a bright sunny day today, currently 79 Degrees. I enjoyed the weather by visiting the driving range (golf) where I work. Then I took a little stroll around the park. It was B*E*A*U*T*I*F*U*L.

Borat

I was not a fan of the movie. I would not recommend spending your money.

Do I look Like Someone you Know?

Me morphing into my younger sister.
Every so often I get someone that says I look like someone they know, or I remind them of someone. It's weird, and it kind of keeps me out. Does this ever happen to anyone else? It happened to me today when I was getting my oil changed. Apparently I looked like some Kelly girl.

I do believe that out there somewhere everyone has twin. I have seen a couple people who look dead on people I know. weird.

Here
is a website a a photographer who photographs look-a-likes.
Here is a 20/20 video.

I will do a custom morph for a dollar donation. Send 2 pictures of two different people to airrikajswan@google.com. Make sure the pictures are relatively the same size and at the same angle.

Spring is Back... For the Day

It is a beautiful 68 °F / 20 °C out and there is not a cloud in sight. Though I slept most of the day (yes, I missed class), I enjoyed what I could of the day. I did a little spring cleaning on my car and it is almost sparkling. I cleaned out all the miscellaneous trash, cleaned the windows, wiped down the dashboard and door panels, and I gathered up some clothes and shoes I had tossed in there... There was even some stuff left over from the road trip to Florida!

So basically my car was a mess... and now it's not. I still need to vacuum, clean the carpets with my handy dandy carpet cleaner (best thing I've ever bought), and get a quality car wash(it's going to rain tomorrow).

Do you keep your car clean? Or is it always a mess?

Balance

The Balance Meme
  1. How do you achieve balance in your life?

By filling in the blank space. By keeping a calender. And not making too many promises.

  2. What is your biggest challenge in balancing your life?

If I do not get a few hours to myself a day I tend to get cranky.

  3. What are your priorities?

Sleep.... Okay I lie. Though I do LOVE to sleep, my priorities are work and school. But gosh tha'st so lame...
So I'm just going to say doing what needs to be done.
  1. Have your priorities changed over time and why?

I would say yes. When I was 5 all I cared about was Barbies. 10, all I cared about was soccer. Highschool all I care about was friends, boys, work and school! Now. My priorities are... Family, work, school, friends, fun and well... I can't forget myself!

  2. What advice can you share to help all of us balance our lives?
Do whatcha gotta do. Don't take things or yourself too seriously.

Friday Flashback

We used to stand on the end of our parents bed, make our bodies stiff with out hands down to our sides (kind of like a "Pencil Dive"). We would then fall/tip straight over and yell TIMBER and flop on the bed.

Why? I have no idea. But it sure was fun... and I'm sure it drove Mom and Dad nuts! Every child's goal.

New Phone!

Woo Whoo! I'm getting a new phone :-D

Thank goodness for "new every two"!

The one I have now looks so clunky and beat up compared to the one I'm getting!

Family

My mom is too busy to post right now... she is currently in the process of moving to Arizona. When I mean in the process - I mean she and her husband are chillin' in a hotel room, until Wednesday when it's all said and done. So... I'm stealing one of her potential posts.

My older sister just graduated from Full Sail in Florida so my mom just got back from going there... my Grandparents were there too. My mom snapped these AWESOME pictures of my sister waking my grandpa up with bubbles.

I absolutely LOVE these pictures.

Every One gets a Second Chance...

... It doesn't mean they should

This video is in reference to a previous post.

30 Day Experiment.

Today April 6th at 4:00pm I begin a 30 day experiment. There is something that people have told me, and I want to see if it is true. I'm not going to tell you what it is. In 30 days you will find out!

You could however, humor me and guess.

Friday Flashback

The hot and sticky summer air, suddenly cooled by a swimming invite. The smell of chlorine and the burn in our eyes. Can you guess what I'm saying underwater? Rate this dive 1-10, 10 being the best. Marco. Polo. Fish out of water! Swimming, swimming, swimming. All day long. Dragged out by our parents and halos around the back porch lights. One more dive mom please? One more dunk. Wait! I have to put my hair up. Stalling for a few more minutes, frightened of the cool night air.

Too tired to walk home, I take a seat on my dads shoulders. We are making our way home across the backyards of our neighbors.

I have just been clotheslined.

How Do you Take Your Water?

Straight from the tap (faucet)?
Fresh out of the creek/stream/pond/puddle/river/ocean/swamp out back?
Hose water?
Hot?
Warm?
Cold w/no ice?
With tons of ice?
Light ice?
Flavored?
Carbonated?
In a cup?
In a bottle?

Who knew there were so many ways to have a glass of water. I like mine different ways.

For soccer when I was younger... and because we never had ice with all three of us in sports. We would take one of those large water bottles, fill half of it with ice and freeze it overnight. Then right before we left for practice we would grab it out of the freezer and fill the rest of it with tap water.

I always carried around water with me in high school. But I liked it cold, so when I thought of it I would put a bottled water in the freezer the night before. I would then pull it out in the morning as I was leaving and drink the water as it melted throughout the day.

I don't like my water with ice when I'm drinking it from a cup. A water bottle is okay, but there is something about the ice cubes interrupting the flow as they press against my lips. Damn cubes get in the way. (I HATE my pop with ice. It melts and totally ruins the flavor!)

Bottled vs Tap water. I don't really care. I like to reuse bottles. My own though. Reusing someone else's empty bottled water bottle is just germy.

I do not like Dasani water. It comes in a blue bottle and tastes like plastic. EW.

I hate flavored water.

Also there is nothing better than taking a drink out of a hose on a hot summer day. I don't care if everyone says bugs crawl up there and die. It's good dammit.

He "Throws Like a Girl"

I could do so much better than that. Shoot, half the kids I babysit could throw it better that that. Even the ones that cant walk yet.

He almost looks like he threw it like he didn't care. :-/

Anyway he will be on Jimmy tonight to see if he can do better. As soon as that is on YouTube I'll put it up :-)

PS He is Cincinnati's MAYOR

Welcome to April

Is it April already? My goodness, where has the time gone?! In a previous post I asked everyone to vote on which header you would rather look at this month... Oreos or a spider web. The cookies won! So there they are. Enjoy :-)

On another note... I haven't had much time to blog..... I haven't had much time to sleep either :-( I am definitely a girl that needs her sleep. In fact, I might even go as far as to call it a hobby.

Friday was full of class and babysitting. At least I got to hang with T.h. for a while afterwards.

Saturday I worked at the golf course 9am-1pm then did some ride-along hours (3pm-11pm) with a local police department (it's for class I have to complete 144 hrs this quarter).

Sunday was much the same... Golf course 8-1 and then ride along 3-11. Not much time to sleep... and you know I don't make it to bed right when I get home. There is too much to do when I get back!! (Like this blog :-) )

Tomorrow= Dentist at 8 am, then work until 5. I will be coming home STRAIGHT after, going to bed.... and not waking up until the next morning. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!
