Deep Conditioner - How To

...So I was stumblin' around the web lastnight/this morning and I came across a deep conditioner you can make at home. I was super-duper bored so I went to the store and picked up some ingredients. For those of you interested in trying it out... I thought I'd go ahead and post a little guide.

What you will need
1 avocado
1 small jar of mayonnaise
a shower cap, plastic bag or saran wrap

Step 1. Wash your hair, shampoo only... throw it up in a towel and prepare to make the goop.
Step 2. Peel avocado.
Step 3. Combine avocado and mayonnaise in bowl.
Step 4. Mix. Not with hands like the original recipe says, a potato masher works much better.
Step 5. Take your chunky-baby-spit-up-like mixture to the bathroom.
Step 6. Apply goop to hair while leaning over tub.
Step 7. Work goop into hair.
Step 8. Play with hair. Its green and feels like putty.
Step 9. When no longer amused - place shower cap over head and clean up your mess for 20 minutes.
Step 10. Ding Ding DING! 20 minutes is up! Go to the shower, rinse out and shampoo and condition your hair.
Step 11. Admire your only slightly feeling different hair. But hey it was fun. Right?
Step 12. Download pictures and make stupid ass of self by posting pictures of your boredom to the web. See exhibits A and B

Friday Flashback

We used to watch this every time we went to see our grandparents in Michigan. Love this movie!

One Question

If Google were a drug, would I smoke it?

See the link here.

Happy Friday the Thirteenth!

What is paraskevidekatriaphobia? Hint: click the damn thing to find out.

If you like the number thirteen... you might find the Winchester Mystery House very interesting. Click the quoted text to read more.

"Today the home is owned by Winchester Investments LLC[5] and it retains unique touches that reflect Winchester's beliefs and her reported preoccupation with warding off malevolent spirits. The number thirteen and spider web motifs, which she considered to be lucky, reappear around the house. For example, an expensive imported chandelier that originally had 12 candle-holders was altered to accommodate 13 candles, wall clothes hooks are in multiples of 13, and a spider web-patterned Tiffany window contains 13 colored stones. In tribute, the house's current groundskeepers have created a topiary tree shaped like the number 13. Also, every Friday the 13th the large bell on the property is rung 13 times at 1300 in tribute to Sarah Winchester. It was also obvious that Sarah was intrigued by the number "13". Nearly all of the windows contained 13 panes of glass; the walls had 13 panels; the greenhouse had 13 cupolas; many of the wooden floors contained 13 sections; some of the rooms had 13 windows and every staircase but one had 13 steps. This exception is unique in its own right.... it is a winding staircase with 42 steps, which would normally be enough to take a climber up three stories. In this case, however, the steps only rise nine feet because each step is only two inches high."

I went to the Winchester Mystery House while visiting my mom when she lived in California. It was very neat. If your ever near it, I recommend visiting!

On Friday I took a test to become a Border Patrol Agent. I went into the test not really expecting to pass. If anything I was hoping to gain some experience and get the feel for the testing process. A lot of criminal justice jobs require some sort of testing procedure. The test was very hard and very long. the test itself was about 5 hrs. It included a logic section as well as a foreign language section. You could either take the Spanish Test or an Artificial Language Test, which test to see if you can learn a language. Not knowing Spanish, I went for the ALT. The test in general was pretty hard, the language part being the worst...

I wasn't expecting to get results that same day. I took an Immigrations Officer test the week before, and I still don't know what I received. We ended up being at the testing center 9-5. The
test grading machine/computer was on the fritz. We waiiiiited and waiiiited. I kind of felt like, maybe I should just leave.... I probably failed it anyway... I'm just waisting a lot of time standing around!

Finally, results were in. "Congratulations" it read. I had passed. Not just barely (70 to pass), but with a 98!! I couldn't believe I did so well!!! Shoot, I wasn't expecting to actually pass. Many people don't pass the first time around! 55 people passed out of the 140ish that were there, 5 of us were females.

They scheduled us for Oral Board Interviews that Following Monday (which meant suit shopping Sunday). We had to be there at 8am on Monday... I was the last one to interview. I got out of there around 2pm. I passed that portion as well!

Apparently I had signed up for the compressed hiring, which means the process goes faster. It is a 4-5 month process rather than a year. Well the bad thing about that is I have a physical test in the next few weeks! eek! Since I thought I had signed up for the regular hiring, I thought Id have more time.... but here I am trying to find a way to be able to do 20 push-ups in a minute. I can't even do ONE! Well I can do ONE now, but that is it.... and I had to work myself to that point!

So I may fail the physical part, though I reallly reallly want to pass because I'm in desperate need for cash!!! If I fail it, I think I have another chance at least ;-)

I passed the Border Patrol test! It was something I was not expecting to happen... So now I'm really worried about the physical test in about 2 weeks! yikes!

Friday Flashback

Found this at the grocery store of all places. It's just one of those things I remember doing as a kid! We'd used all the gook inside pretty quickly as soon as we got them! We'd always try to see who could make the biggest with out it popping.

Gosh, I had forgotten how much those things stink!

My goal tonight is noooo sleep. Why? I'll tell you why. I've been staying up until about 3am lately... and waking up around noon. I really need to get myself on a better schedule (I decided this after talking to my sister - since when do I listen to her??!). I figure if I stay up tonight and dont nap tomorrow i will be ready for bed pretty early ;-)

Since I'll be awake, I shall clean my room!

Do whatever the heck my mom wants me to. She is having "Brain Surgery." And by brain surgery I mean having a disturbing chunk of skin removed from her hairline :-( I know everything will go fine and be okay, but keep my momma in your thoughts!

Go to Safeway (the local grocery store) and apply for a job. I'm getting extremely desperate. I need some cash flow. I have a babysitting job lined up, but that doesn't start "full time" until August.

Be in bed by 11pm.

Ace the Border Patrol test I have scheduled.

Clean my room again... I'm sure it will be a mess. After all I did write a post titled "How To Mess Up Your Room in 10 Easy Steps"

What If....?

The President of the United States called you:
If he did... I imagine it would go something like this- "Hi Mr. President, I've always wanted to say that. How's the weather? ...Oh thats nice... Hey, since we're all buddy buddy now, can I borrow Air Force one for a few weeks, I have some very important beach sitting to attend to."

You won the lottery:
I'd pay off loans, Give my parents and siblings each a million, buy a good camera, buy a house - decorate it, open up a restaurant or art/craft store/studio, and invest the rest!

You got invited to be on a reality TV show:
First of all I would decline all offers, unless it was Survivor or Big Brother. I'd be myself.... and WIN!!

You caught a friend stealing from you:
I'd probably second guess myself and convince myself they didn't, even if they did.

You witnessed a murder:
I'd try to remember as much detail about the event/people involved and call the coppers.

A random stranger offered you candy:
I'd take it, and then pitch it in the nearest trash receptacle.

MySpace and Facebook closed:
I supposed I'd get along ok, as long as their is blogging and AIM

A genie granted you one wish:
Then I'd probably be supper happy and very surprised at the same time to find out genies really do exist.

You lost your favorite possession:
Possessions aren't memories, so I'd be Okay.... besides its my computer and I'd just buy another one.

You found 10 dollars on the ground:
Put it in my pocket.

Your date throws up on you:
I'd probably throw up back on them 'cause I'd be so disgusted.

Someone cut off a chunk of your hair:
I'd make it fashionable. haha I dunno, I'd probably be pissed, but I'd end up cutting the rest to match.

Your favorite celebrity comes to visit you:
Ask them for money!! lol.

You were stranded on an island with nothing but the ability to make one phone call:
I'd save my phone call for a rainy day... I'd probably order out - delivery
