Friday Flashback

Um, hello! My mom is HOT!

My Mom/Everyone says I look a lot like my mom... but when I look at pictures of her in her teens and 20's all I see is my older sister's face!

P.S. Mom, if you are out there reading - and I know you are... nice necklace. Is it real? Is it yours? and can I have it?

I hope she doesn't hate me for posting these.... Love you momma!

The Eggsperiment -Day 62

The Eggman has been sick the past 2 weeks. Extremely droopy - now matter how much or little I water it. I even tried putting it in less sun... No luck.

Even though the little guy is still really tiny and frail, I decided I would try a transplant. I figured it was going to die in that egg - I could attempt to save its life.

I drilled some holes it the bottom of a plastic container.

Gathered some supplies and got them ready.

Then as gently as I could I took out the baby plants and replanted them. Here is where things started going bad. It was pretty windy outside and I think all but one of the little guys got bent over. As you can see - they aren't standing up very well at all. I tried my best to get the roots under the soil...

Then I decided I would water the little dudes so the soil would hold them in a little better - I also wanted to feed them some Miracle-Gro.

I kind-of-sort-of created a flood.

It just didn't want to soak in...

But finally it did...

However, I'm kind of thinking this looks a bit more like a murder scene than a successful transplant.

I guess I'll give it a few days to get grounded..... then decide if it will remain on the windowsill or find a new home in the compost pile.

To be continued!

What Makes You Cry?

I was stumbling around the Internet this evening and came across Journal Writing Prompts. So I thought I'd give one a try....

What Makes Me Cry

Other people crying. I could walk in the funeral of my worst enemy, and if there were other people there crying - I too would start crying.

Death. Thinking about that last one, I think I would cry even if no one else was crying.

Physical Pain. I have a high pain tolerance. But getting my wisdom tooth pulled while awake and slicing off the end of my finger are examples of tear producing pain in my book.

Absolutely amazing surprises. This surprise makes me cry every time (probably more so because other people are crying too). And all though I've never been proposed to - this would be another good example for this category. I was actually talking to a friend about proposals the other day... I think the surprise is a huge part of it - which is why I told her that she better tell my future whoever, that I DON'T want to know if he's going to ask me to marry him. I want to be surprised dammit! Sorry, Tangent. A big tangent - considering there is no love interest in my life at all right now!

Books and Movies. I guess you could generalize it to stories in general. My bff always laughs at me because I will cry during the most retarded movies. My responses is just "I don't even know why I'm crying." I always judge books and movies on if they make me cry or not. If it is a book that made me cry - I'll most likely recommend it to someone. Muhaha.

Music. Like books and movies. Music can tell a story. Add that story to music and the tears will start flowing! For obvious reasons, most of those songs tend to be country. In most cases usually only the first few listens of these sad songs will make me cry - and being alone in my car is a big factor. A sad song is less likely to make me cry with friends around ;-) A couple songs that I can think of off the top of my head: Skin, Three Wooden Crosses, Have You Forgotten. I think that last one is kind of a corny song, but man - it gets to me.

Extremely funny people/places/things/circumstances. Crying because you are laughing so hard is the absolute best thing in the world. Seriously. One can not beat that I'm about to pee my pants feeling. This reason for crying can come about in many situations... I'd have to say triggers are my favorite - you know, when you are in a really inappropriate place and someone says/does something that reminds you for something else and you can stop chuckling to yourself . Or when some one, of some kind of authority, (teacher) says something and you can't help but laugh at how they said it. These laughing fits usually end up in an inability to talk and breath - which forces the tears ;-) Oh this reason for crying makes me think of sooo many stories with friends and dumb things we/I have done. Hehehe... maybe I will attempt the stories someday here on this blog... but it probably won't be funny to you - Let's just include inside jokes under this category.

Well that is all I can think of right now - I hope this post didn't make you cry!!

As some of you may know, I'm driving to Cincinnati and back in June/July for my friends wedding. These routes are tentative, and I'm not sure which one I will do first. All I know is I'm going to get a cache in each state and take a crapload of pictures!! I'm not even 100% sure when I'm leaving - it all depends on when I have to work and if my friend is coming with me one of the ways.

I'm going to do some touristy things along each way (think Route 66ish type of stuff). Some of them have caches - so that's exciting! Anyway - what I'm looking for are good cache recommendations. I probably won't be able to do many becuase of time... but if it's worth stopping for I'd love to try it! If possible I'd like to meet some cachers - but again I don't know what kind of time I will have so who knows on that...

What do you have for me?

I Find Ways to Entertain Myself...

What can I say... I took a 5 hr nap in the middle of the day - and well I was bored tonight. SO I made a video. It is pretty random. As is the song.

I really want to geocache. Especially when I read everyone's tweets on Twitter! But it is WAY to hot to cache during the day - so unless I want to wake up at the crack of dawn on my off day (which I don't), caching will have to be put on the back burner. I WILL be caching in June though! SO excited for my cross county road trip! yey!

Here are some more pics I took of myself...

I Bet You'll Never Guess...

... I went geocaching!

I went up to Mt. Lemmon. A great place to beat the heat in Tucson. While I may have escaped 100 degree temps, I couldn't hide from the sun. My arms and face are pretty red. I have awesome sunglasses and bracelet lines. I know, I know... you are starting to get jealous. I'll stop now.

I had more than four caches in my GPS, but the combination of bad allergies and high altitude were not helping my motivation today. So four was it. Better than none I guess!

This was my favorite cache of the day:

Cache 2

Luckily there were no muggles around today and I had time to wind the log back up...

Cache 2

I think the best thing about today was... Lunch

With a view of course...

Oh yeah. I got to ride the ski lift to the top!
