Howard's Orchard

Howard's Orchard

I filled out a "Will Attend" log on a recently published event. If I do end up going - which I hope I do... it will be my second event. After I did that, I clicked on the event host's profile to see what caches they had in the area - and if I had done any. I had completed a few, but as I went through the list of caches they had out I came across one that had a reference to an orchard in the title. It was only 16 miles away! I got excited and decided it would be my next cache.

I woke up at the crack of dawn the next day and made my way there. I got there at 7 am - the only time of the day you can do anything outside with out sweating to death. The orchard was tiny compared to the one I worked at in my teen years. It was basically a guy who decided he wanted to grow fruits and vegetables on his property. It was small but pretty organized and there were a lot of different things. He had tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, apples, pecans. It was very quiet and peaceful little place. For just a little while, I didn't feel like I was in Arizona at all.

I picked fruits and veggies, paid for my goodies and then went around and snapped some pictures. After I was done with that I went after the cache. The cache ended up being a pretty easy find, and I was finally able to get rid of some travel bugs I've had for too long!
