A Needle in a Haystack

My first two caches were pretty easy finds. For my third I decided to be a little trickier. I went to Micheal's and purchased a fake cactus. I cut a hole out of the bottom and filled the thing with rocks (for weight). I then epoxied a small Glad container into the bottom and sprayed the lid with some rock/sand looking spray paint....

Stop

Stop Hammer Time
I've seen these online and always assumed they were photoshopped. I was wrong. They actually exist. I saw this one with my own eyes!

I would personally put "In the name of love!" after it but hey, I'm no criminal!

Watching her (from left) are Jennifer Xxxx, Jess Xxxx, and Erika Xxxx."

Winter Blues? I Don't Think So!

I woke up a bit thirsty this morning...Not knowing what I wanted yet, I looked out side to see what kind of day it was. I instantly knew what I would have to drink when I spotted the orange tree!

All those oranges for ONE tiny glass.... it was so worth it.

My mom made some grapefruit juice when I was done...

Can you believe this is WINTER?!

Trying New Things

Click the Image to see it larger.

I've always been a doodler - especially in class. Recently I have been looking at Rick's doodles(aka works of art) and I have been inspire to try to doodle THINGS. I'm not too great but who knows... maybe practice will make perfect? I sure am a loooong way from even attempting a person ;-)

Geocaching... Explained

9/365
Geocaching in Ohio

I've recently started geocaching and it has become a bit of an addiction. Since I'm sure I'll be blogging about it in the future I decided to explain it a bit more. I started doing it a few weeks ago, and since then I've had to explain it a billion times! Here is the explanation from the website:

"Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache."

Some geocaches are simply logs, where you write down your name as "proof" that you found the cache, while some are much larger containers that you can put little trinkets and what not in. The "rule" is that if you take something - you must replace it with something of similar value. There are also other "rules" that you learn... like not being seen while finding the cache! Some caches will warn you ahead of time that muggles are often present. A muggle being a non-geocaching person.

It is very fun and a great way to get out and moving! You might even see fun things along the way (like the Indian Pictographs above)!! It is also fun to hear that other people find what you leave behind!! This little girl found a neckalce I left in the first cache I found!

Check out the TINY cache my mom found today.

...And if any of you would like to add me as a friend on www.geocaching.com .... my name is ErikaJean on there ;-) Make sure you also have changed your settings to allow requests!

Holy Crap on a Cracker!

Trip update.

Today I wrecked the rental car. I didn't get the extra insurance because frankly - I think it's a scam. I mean my own insurance company covers me...... WHEN I GET IN A WRECK. Ugh I got in a wreck. Some one upstairs hates me.

I was coming out of the Super Wal*Mart parking lot and did some slipping and sliding down a hill. Both wheels on the driver side hit the curb with some force. The plastic hubcap broke off and the bumper popped out (looks really easy to snap back in). When I tried to drive it however it was all wibbily wobboly.

Good news is... at the MOST I will pay $500, which is my deductible. Bad news is It probably wont have a way around for the rest of my trip and my insurance will probably go up....

Do you remember my LAST ENCOUNTER WITH ICE? Apparently I have a knack for wrecking other peoples cars.

And I'm Off.....

I am headed to the mid-west! You may not care to read this. It is utterly boring and you probably don't know half the people anyway!

It has been in the 70's the last three days... Who, in their right mind would want to leave Arizona weather for weather in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana? Me that's who!

Why? Because I desperately miss my friends and family!! I decided to go after the holidays because it's a bit cheaper in regards to airfare.

So I leave for Phoenix at 3am!! Good god. At least I'm not driving... THANKS MOM! I'm due to arrive in Dayton early afternoon, where my friend Steph will pick me up... THANKS STEPH! We will then probably hang out for a bit and then meet my lil' sis and friend Tiffany out for dinner!

The next day(Monday) I'm off to Michigan to see my grandparents with my dad. We may go see a Redwings game while in town... not sure yet. We will be coming back to Cincinnati late Wed and then I have a few days to chill - but not really (lots of geocaching, baking and partying planned). Then Tiffany's Bridal Shower Saturday! I'm excited about that! Then off to Indy With Steph to see Jess for the night. Back to Cincinnati Sunday then maybe Ashland to see Molly on Monday or Tuesday... then home Wed.

MY GOD. I should have planned to stay a full two weeks........but I'm sure I'll be exhausted and ready to come home! Blogging will be at a minimum do to lack of internet! But I will bring my computer with me so who knows!
