Book Review

Title: The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes
Author: Diane Chamberlain
Pages: 528

Book Description:

An unsolved murder.

A missing child.

A lifetime of deception.

In 1977, pregnant Genevieve Russell disappeared. Twenty years later, her remains are discovered and Timothy Gleason is charged with murder. But there is no sign of the unborn child.

CeeCee Wilkes knows how Genevieve Russell died, because she was there. And she also knows what happened to the missing infant, because two decades ago she made the devastating choice to raise the baby as her own. Now Timothy Gleason is facing the death penalty, and she has another choice to make. Tell the truth, and destroy her family. Or let an innocent man die in order to protect a lifetime of lies…

My Thoughts: I really liked this one... and as usual, I was crying at the end! So in my opinion that defines a good book. This was loooong read but it covers two decades of CeeCee Wilkes and her secret life. Is was a bit jumpy at points, but I understand the story had to keep moving. The main themes have a lot to do with growing up, facing fears, motherhood and family.... and lying, lots of lying! Good book. I might even have to look up some more by this author!
