Bobcat!

I was in the kitchen with my Mom when I noticed a cat in the backyard. A rather large cat I thought... No, not a cat... a Bobcat! We went to the window to have a better look and scared him up onto the fence. From there, we saw him wagging his tail and then jump down on to something on the other side. I dashed in to the other room for my camera, looked over the fence and managed to snap these pictures before he left.

Back Yard Bobcat!

If you look closely below the bobcat there is a rattle snake with a ground squirrel (which he later lost). We're wondering if the bobcat stole part of the snake's lunch...

Here it is zoomed in..

Snake with Packrat

Mmm ground squirrel.

  4. That's so cool! I've never seen a bobcat before. Well, in a zoo, but that doesn't count. Completely different!

  5. That isn't the kind of wildlife I would want to run into and see! The bobcats are smaller thought, right? They say we have cougars here in Iowa, I just NEVER want to see one!

  6. So…..on any given day, you have a bobcat with a dead squirrel AND a rattlesnake with an injured pack-rat? In your back yard? A scorpion in your bed last week? What’s next Erika? An alligator in your bathtub? LOL! That is so literally, WILD!

  7. A rattlesnake and a bobcat in your yard both at the same time, and you got pictures of all of it, too! I can't begin to explain how incredible I think this is. Way too cool!
