Pumpkin Carvin' Time

My pumpkin sucked this year. I didn't have the proper carving tools or time to print off any templates.... but I still had a fun time carving mine with Sara and Brandy - and that is what counts!

We spread out a tarp in their back yard. We took photos, carved, took photos, carved and so on....

My favorite part has GOT to be the GUTS! I love the ewwey gooey sliminess!

Pumpkin Guts!

More Pumpkin Guts!

Brandy roasted the seeds, and I can't stop eating them! Mmm. She made one batch with just salt, and on batch with salt and garlic. Delicious!

I tried taking pictures of my pumpkin, but I just didn't have it in me to get a good shot. I stole this one from my sister (thanks Sis!). We stuck sparklers in the eyes.

  2. You now see pumpkins in our shops, but we didn't used to. For the first time ever I bought a squash last week, I roasted it first then added it to yellow pepper and carrots and made soup, it was lovely. I cannot find tinned pumpkin here in the UK without paying "silly" prices for it online. One year before coming back from a holiday in Wisconsin I bought 6 tins as I like to make pumpkin pie from the recipe on the back of the tin (and guess who had their case searched at MN airport with the tins in lol?). Hopefully when we visit Australia in the near future we may see tins over there to bring back. Wow 100+ caches in a DAY! it has taken me a year to get to 200+. Very well done Erika. I completed my first challenge in town yesterday and hope to do more in Glasgow tomorrow.
