More Embroidey

The Addams family is finished! I LOVE the way these turned out. They will be nice Halloween decorations in my... bathroom? I don't think I can put these in a kitchen. They will get way too messy... I've been trying to add "new" elements every time I work on a stitching project. This time around it was filling in with fabric markers. I went with the Tulip brand but the colors were limited.... so I may try something else next time. I think the added color really pulled it all together though. Made it look less like a coloring book page (which is where I got the design) and more like a work of art ;-)

Since I knew the above project was pretty much done I had to start on a new one. I saw this idea on pinterest....

You take a kid's drawing:

And then trace it onto a towel and stitch away....

I'm thinking these might be something that will come in handy around Christmas time...

Photo Dump

So the whole training process for the job I started at the end of August lasts 12-18 months. Eekk! The first 6 weeks is ALL classroom training. We just started week 4 yesterday. I feel like I'm back in SCHOOL. Seriously. I have a quiz tomorrow and I haven't really started studying yet. Back to my old procrastinating ways. As bad as it sounds (as I continue to type and not study) it works for me. It always has.

Even with my procrastionation I haven't had much time to get over here to the ol' blog. Which makes me a little sad... cause I love it here. Nor have I had much time to get all my blog reading done. Wahhh!

I have been able to stitch in my spare time. It's kind of become a bit of an addiction lately. I made two Addams Family towels. And I can't wait to share them here! I just have to fray check my tails, wait 24 hours, wash them, iron them and then photograph them. So hope fully by the end of the week a photo will be up. I love how they turned out!

So in the mean time... photo dump!

WIP Wednesday

Changing things up a little bit this week with a "Work in Progress Wednesday" instead of a "Wordless Wednesday" - It's because I can't shut up.

This is my latest project. I think these dish towels will be for ME. I'm thinking actually I need to make a set for EVERY holiday for myself. The Addams Family for Halloween obviously ;-)

I figure if they can put the candy out at Walgreens, then I'm allowed to start thinking Halloween...

Every once and a while Pinterest leaves me scratching my head...

That is one good way to guarantee your child will be sleeping in your room. Don't just make them think they are seeing shadows. Put them there yourself!

Don't just lie to your children, take it to the extreme. As if leaving money under the pillow and eating "Santa's" cookies were enough... Look honey, little tiny people are crawling all over you when you sleep and I have PROOF. I'm sure you child will sleep through the night just fine.

Ignore every warning on every plastic bag you've ever seen!
This kid looks like he actually might already be a victim of the plastic bag. I mean really, you couldn't pick a better picture than that?

Just how random is this thing?

I know the internet leaves us scratching our heads a lot... what is the stupidest pin you've seen on Pinterest?
