Spring Sprang Sprung

It has officially been spring for a whole 3 days now. Arizona is much nicer than the rest of the US this time of the year, so I was able to get a head start.

On March 6th I purchased a pack of beans.

Following directions, I let them soak in warm water overnight.

The following day I planted them.

Then I watered and waited... I thought maybe I had started too early, because I heard beans grow pretty quickly and I wasn't seeing anything. I kept on watering, with my fingers crossed. To my delight I saw signs of life on the 17th.

Now here we are, March 23rd and I have a total of 8 plants.

Some are doing really well...

While others are lagging behind, taking their time....

I hope they will continue to grow so I can show you some green beans in the future!

What are you growing this year... and if you aren't growing anything what would you grow if you could??

  1. Our garden doesn't variety doesn't change much. I grow roma and yellow pear tomatoes, sugar pumpkins, acorn squash, basil, oregano, and sometimes spaghetti squash.

  2. I have big dreams of one day planting a garden. I would love to plant strawberries and watermelon. Oh and maybe some zucchini.

  3. These shots inspire me! It will be a few more days here in the Detroit, Michigan, area, but it is definitely on the way!

  4. Looks great! I have a small garden in my deck where my lime tree is putting out small blossoms and my bougainvillea is a riot of colors!

Just stopping by to say hi! I signed up for the A to Z blog challenge for the first time!

  5. Stopping by from the A-Z list. Fellow Arizonan, but no gardening for me. Have fun with the Challenge-see ya around.

  6. Our garden is booming! Lettuce, cabbage, green onions, chives, cilantro, beets, chile plants. I wish we could do strawberries and tomatoes successfully (we've tried)

  7. Keep us informed! As we move thru April there will be lots to report.
